The Isuzu Ascender is a mid-size SUV from General Motors. Introduced for 2003, the 7-passenger Ascender replaced the mid-size Isuzu Trooper. It also replaced the Rodeo and the Axiom as Isuzu's only SUV. A shorter 5-passenger model was made available for 2004. A Displacement on Demand V8 was used for 2005. Production of the 7-passenger Ascender ended in February 2006 with the closure of GM's Oklahoma City Assembly plant.
