The &#039;&#039;&#039;Button Car Plan&#039;&#039;&#039; was an attempt to rationalize the Australian car industry during the 1980s. A major component of the plan, badge engineering, failed due to unforseen resistance from the buying public.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Unfortunately, its creator Senator John Button is most remembered for this dismal failure despite an esteemed political career in 1987.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
