A Mazda Bongo was used in the Australian movie "Mad Max" (1979), which is about the post-apocalyptic period. In the scene, the police, aka "Main Force Patrol" was chasing a jailbreaker (The Nightrider) and one of the patrol cars hit the Bongo as it was pulling out onto the road. The Bongo was actually owned by the director and he sacrificed it for the film.
