Recent Changes
* At the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, Bentley unveiled "eco-friendly" Continental Supersports. Based on the Continental GT, the Supersports puts the kibosh on eco-mentalists with an E85-capable version of their W12 engine producing 621 hp (Bentley's highest output yet) and a prodigious 590 pound-feet of torque. That translates to a very green 0-60 mph sprint of 3.7 seconds. To bolster its eco-conscious intent, the engine is fitted with sensors to monitor how much gasoline and/or ethanol is being used. It's also 110 lb lighter than the standard GT , omitting 2 seats, and features Bentley's new Quickshift, which halves gear change times. This car should bring Bentley back to shopping list of Hollywood's A-list who have had to make do with the Prius to be fashionably green. </gallery>

* For the Summer of 2007, Bentley has unveiled a facelifted version of the Continental GT as well as a higher performing version called GT Speed. The GT Speed develops 600bhp (441kW) and 750Nm (553ft-lb) of torque out of the 6.0 litre W12 mill, reducing 0-60mph time to just 4.3 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.5s) with a top speed of 202mph (326km/h).

* 2009 sees the introduction of the drop top GTC Speed. The new car is essentially the same in concept as the 600 hp GT Speed but without a roof. It allows owners to enjoy top down motoring at speeds of up to 200mph (322 km/h).
*RECALL ALERT: On March 7, 2008, Bentley announced a recall affecting 4 MY 2004 - 2006 Continental GTs & Continental Flying Spurs due to the passenger airbag replacement trimmed covers have been manufactured with tethers of an incorrect length. In the event of a crash, this could result in damage to the airbag itself during deployment increasing the risk of injuries. ==Unique Attributes==
The Continental GT has a 6 L W12 engine with twin turbochargers which develops 552 hp (411 kW) at 6100 RPM and 479 lb-ft (650 N-m) at 1600 RPM. Never before had a 12 cylinder engine been employed on a Bentley car. Acceleration from 0-60 mph takes 4.7 seconds (0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 s), the top speed is 198 mph (312 km/h). It has all-wheel drive, the first Bentley to do so, and a six speed automatic transmission with steering wheel mounted gearshift paddles for instant override. The engine and air suspension are manufactured by Bentley, but are loosely based on owner Volkswagen's flagship car the Phaeton.

The Continental GT features the largest brake disc on any production car at 405 mm (16 in) in front. The rear disc measures 335 mm (13 in).
Criticisms
While praised for its handling, power and refinement, the Continental GT was recently criticized in the Dupont Registry's Exotic Car Buyers Guide 2008 as being "nose heavy", making it "cumbersome on tight roads", and for being more of a two-seater than the 2+2 it is marketed as.
Continental Flying Spur
Bentley Continental Flying Spur (2005)

The four-door Continental Flying Spur saloon was shown at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show in March. The Flying Spur utilizes the Volkswagen D platform, and will be available in the United States in the summer of 2005 for around US$175,000. Together they will take Bentley production from around 1000 units in 2003 to nearly 9000 units in 2006.

One notable aspect of the Continental Flying Spur is its grille. Although it looks like a traditional chromed brass mesh, it is actually made of plastic. This was done to add pedestrian safety to the car — it is designed to break apart on impact to soften the blow. However, it will not meet the forthcoming European Union pedestrian safety regulations.

Continental GTC
The convertible version of the Continental GT, the Continental GTC, was presented in September 2005, and will be available by the autumn of 2006. With the second generation Azure, it is the second convertible by Bentley presented in 2005.

Worldwide
If the vehicle is sold in other markets worldwide, then this is the section to mention that information. Also, mention if the <MODEL> goes by another name in these other markets.
Design quirks and oddities
*The GT apppears in the 2005 remake of The Longest Yard with Adam Sandler, featuring the Bentley in the co-starring role held by the Citroën SM in the 1974 Burt Reynolds original. This time, rather than escaping from the police, the protagonist crashes into them.
The Jaguar X-Type is an luxury vehicle. This model of motorcar first began production in 2001 (as a 2002 model) and remains in production at Jaguar's Halewood facility in England.

The X-TYPE is the smallest of the current Jaguar saloon (sedan) cars, and was designed to build on the success of the S-Type, although it takes many styling cues from the XJ series.

On July 15 2009, it was announced that the X-Type nameplate and model range will be dropped by 2010 as Jaguar aims to move its brand image upmarket again. Europe will be the last market to sell the car.
It has good handling — the all wheel drive system which is tuned to send 60% of engine power to the rear wheels and 40% to the front for a sportier feel.
Styles and Major Options
The initial version of the X-TYPE was a saloon. In early 2004, this was joined by an estate version, making it the first ever Jaguar estate car, in addition to the first to use a diesel engine. The estate version was launched to mixed reception. In the United States, the estate is officially known as the Sportwagon.

Powertrain
The X-TYPE is equipped in the United States with either a 192 hp (143 kW) 2.5 L or a 227 hp (169 kW) 3.0 L Jaguar AJ-V6 engine and all wheel drive.
The X-TYPE was also available with a 2.1 L V6 front wheel drive In Europe, although this was discontinued shortly after the launch of the diesel variants. The X-TYPE is also available with 2 diesel engines - a 2.0L 128 hp 4 cylinder introduced in 2003 and a 2.2 L 153 hp 4 cylinder diesel engine introduced in mid-2005, all with front wheel drive only.
Current Generation: (YYYY–present)
Market and sales
The X-TYPE was designed as a direct competitor to the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Sales have been poor, however, blamed on its resemblance to the larger XJ which was traditionally bought by older customers, not the younger ones that Jaguar craved. Initially projected to surpass 100,000 annual sales, the X-TYPE peaked at 50,000 in 2003.

(Worth noting BMW 3 Series has many more variants than the X-Type comes in, so is therefore more cars in the same body shell, than the X-Type, [which has fewer model variations at any one time]). Hence comparitive sales figures need to be treated accordingly.

Sales in the United States, its primary market, dropped from 21,542 in 2004 to 10,941 in 2005. BMW sold 106,950 3 Series cars in the U.S. in 2005, while Mercedes-Benz sold 60,658 C-Class cars and Audi sold 48,922 A4 and S4 models. Only Lexus' IS 300 posted similarly disappointing sales. Despite these poor numbers, the X-TYPE is Jaguar's best-selling model, accounting for 36% of overall sales.

The model is scheduled to remain in production through 2009 in Europe although sales have been discontinued in the US.
This is an extremely long production cycle for a modern automobile, especially one with poor sales. It is unlikely that the model will be replaced when production ends, as Jaguar has expressed a desire to be seen as a 'Premium Niche' brand, and will look to move upmarket following the takeover by Tata and concentrate on sales in more expensive vehicle categories.

The X-TYPE is likely to end production once Land Rover launches a second vehicle based on the Freelander platform which will occupy production at the Halewood plant in Merseyside, England where the X-Type is produced.

Design quirks and oddities
The Jaguar X-Type earned 11 points out of 14 in RACV's Personal Security Rating making the car the most secure car in 2005. The Rover 75 is second safest from car thieves with 10 points.

In the What Women Want survey conducted by the RACV in 2003, the X-Type is the most popular choice among women buying a Jaguar.

Awards
List out notable awards that the model has recieved while in production. Boldface the company or orgainization that gives out the award, and Italicize the name of the award.
