The '''[[Subaru]] B9 Tribeca''' is a five- or seven-seat mid-size [[crossover SUV]] which was launched for the 2006 model year and went on sale in June 2005. It is based on the [[Subaru Legacy]] platform and the ''B9X'' concept car. The production version of this SUV is named for New York City's famed Tribeca neighborhood. It is the first Subaru vehicle, excluding the Japan-only Subaru R1/R2 featuring the new Subaru design language of a triangular grille and a rounded bodyshape, which many in the Subaru community have found controversial.

The B9 Tribeca is powered by a 3.0 L [[Boxer engine|boxer]] engine and is priced from US$ 30,695 to 38,320. The updated model, debuting at the Chicago Auto Show, includes some work on the nose with a blacked-out grille, and revised struts, stabilizer bars, and spring rates for better handling. It wasn't considered a truly competitive model at first, but showed promise under the command of Markku Alen, who in 1991 managed a third-place finish at the Swedish Rally. 1992 debuted the combination of experienced Group B, Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, and [[WRC]] driver Ari Vatanen, paired with the up-and-coming Scotish driver Colin McRae for Subaru's [[WRC]] effort. Two second place finishes, one by each driver, strengthened the commitment of [[Subaru]] to [[WRC]], the Legacy, and their drivers.

1993 became a breakout year for Subaru as Colin McRae and Ari Vatanen pushed the Legacy to a third place finish at the Swedish Rally and a one-two placing after the first leg of the Acropolis Rally. Prodrive boss David Richards was eager to prove the potential of the new Impreza WRC car, but was charged with gaining a victory in the Legacy before the Impreza could debut. At Round 8, Subaru finally struck gold when McRae managed to hold back Francois Delecour in his Ford Escort for the win. Subaru has produced high performance versions of the Legacy with a Bilstein suspension and tuned [[Turbo Engine|turbocharged]] engines equivalent to the homologized rally version [[Subaru Impreza WRX STI|WRX STI]] (generating 205 kW on manufacturer's figures for the 2.0 L equivalent engine with manual transmission). Recent 3.0 L engines move close to the 2.0 L [[Turbo Engine|turbo]] output and share the Bilstein suspension. 2.0 L-engined [[Turbo Engine|turbocharged]] models with the Bilstein suspension were named either the ''GT-B'' (for wagons), or ''Spec B'', or ''RSK-B4'' (for sedans). The new 2003 model moved many models to simply ''B4'' or even ''GT'' in some countries. The Spec B badge still exists in the UK, where the 3.0R stands as the premier MY06 model.

In North America, early sporty models were known simply as the Sport Sedan and Touring Wagon. Later models were given the GT and GT Limited nomenclature. The 2006 Legacy model brought forth a limited run of 500 Spec B models. The Legacy was campaigned by [[Subaru]] in the [[WRC]], with the help of Prodrive, beginning in 1990. It wasn't considered a truly competitive model at first, but showed promise under the command of Markku Alen, who in 1991 managed a third-place finish at the Swedish Rally. 1992 debuted the combination of experienced Group B, Pikes Peak International Hillclimb, and [[WRC]] driver Ari Vatanen, paired with the up-and-coming Scotish driver Colin McRae for Subaru's [[WRC]] effort. Two second place finishes, one by each driver, strengthened the commitment of [[Subaru]] to [[WRC]], the Legacy, and their drivers.

1993 became a breakout year for Subaru as Colin McRae and Ari Vatanen pushed the Legacy to a third place finish at the Swedish Rally and a one-two placing after the first leg of the Acropolis Rally. Prodrive boss David Richards was eager to prove the potential of the new Impreza WRC car, but was charged with gaining a victory in the Legacy before the Impreza could debut. At Round 8, Subaru finally struck gold when McRae managed to hold back Francois Delecour in his Ford Escort for the win. This would be the last WRC event for the Legacy, as the [[Impreza]] debuted at the following event, where it placed second in the hands of Vatanen.

Subaru started out as "The Aircraft Research Laboratory" in 1917 headed by Chikuhei Nakajima. Toyota announced a contract with Japanese rival Subaru on March 13, 2006. The new KJ Laser was based on the Mazda 323 imported from Japan and offered better reliability, build quality and affordability. Performances came from a 1.6 litre petrol 4 for economy or a more powerful 1.8 litre engine both channeling power to either a 5 speed Manual or an electronically controlled 4 speed Automatic driving the front wheels.

Both engines were double overhead camshafts with sequential fuel injection and a variable intake system which uses the long intake tract for producing more torque at lower revs and the shorter intake tract for producing peak power. Performance wise, the 1.6 litre egines produces 80 kW of power at 6000 rpm and 143 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. The 1.8 litre engine produces 92 kW at 6000 rpm and 160 Nm at 4000 rpm.

The suspension used in the KJ Laser consists of MacPherson Struts front and rear with slightly higer spring and shock absorbers make the car a good handler. It also came with power steering and disc brakes in all wheels with a larger master cylinder for a more solid brake feel.

The sedan version bares little difference to the Mazda 323 Protegé but the hatchback versions (both 3 door and 5 door) are the most deceptive body styles. The hatchback is well recognised with a sloping back end but rear vision is compromised. The 3 door hatchback known as the ''Lynx'' is the most sporty model aimed at the youth market. It features alloy wheels, dual circular headlights, front foglamps, a slotted grille and the back of the tailgate is clearer (the rear number plate area is moved to the rear bumper). The 5 door hatchback is called the ''Liata''.

The model starts with the ''LXi'' which came with a 4 speaker radio cassette stereo system, power steering, remote boot/hatch release, body coloured bumpers and grille and tilt only adjustable steering column. ABS, air conditioning, dual airbags and a 1.8 litre engine are options.

The ''Ghia'' adds 15 inch alloy wheels, remote central locking, intermittent wipers, power windows (front and rear) and velour. The Ghia also offered the same options as the LXi. It's powered by a 1.8 litre engine and the sedan remains auto only.

The Lynx packs all the features and includes more features such as 15 inch alloy wheels, ABS, dual airbags, fog lamps and rear spoiler and the Lynx is only offered in a manual.

This model Laser is loved for its reliability and economy.

The new KJ Laser was based on the Mazda 323 imported from Japan and offered better reliability, build quality and affordability. Performances came from a 1.6 litre petrol 4 for economy or a more powerful 1.8 litre engine both channeling power to either a 5 speed Manual or an electronically controlled 4 speed Automatic driving the front wheels.

Both engines were double overhead camshafts with sequential fuel injection and a variable intake system which uses the long intake tract for producing more torque at lower revs and the shorter intake tract for producing peak power. Performance wise, the 1.6 litre egines produces 80 kW of power at 6000 rpm and 143 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. The 1.8 litre engine produces 92 kW at 6000 rpm and 160 Nm at 4000 rpm.

The suspension used in the KJ Laser consists of MacPherson Struts front and rear with slightly higer spring and shock absorbers make the car a good handler. It also came with power steering and disc brakes in all wheels with a larger master cylinder for a more solid brake feel.

The sedan version bares little difference to the Mazda 323 Protegé but the hatchback versions (both 3 door and 5 door) are the most deceptive body styles. The hatchback is well recognised with a sloping back end but rear vision is compromised. The 3 door hatchback known as the ''Lynx'' is the most sporty model aimed at the youth market. It features alloy wheels, dual circular headlights, front foglamps, a slotted grille and the back of the tailgate is clearer (the rear number plate area is moved to the rear bumper). The 5 door hatchback is called the ''Liata''.

The model starts with the ''LXi'' which came with a 4 speaker radio cassette stereo system, power steering, remote boot/hatch release, body coloured bumpers and grille and tilt only adjustable steering column. ABS, air conditioning, dual airbags and a 1.8 litre engine are options.

The ''Ghia'' adds 15 inch alloy wheels, remote central locking, intermittent wipers, power windows (front and rear) and velour. The Ghia also offered the same options as the LXi. It's powered by a 1.8 litre engine and the sedan remains auto only.

The Lynx packs all the features and includes more features such as 15 inch alloy wheels, ABS, dual airbags, fog lamps and rear spoiler and the Lynx is only offered in a manual.

This model Laser is loved for its reliability and economy.
